My last day in year4

Today was my last day of school. I really enjoyed this year. The camp and the year 4 night out was awesome, because on camp we milked cows, went orienteering, rode horses, played tennis, played hand ball and of course lighted a bonfire. Now that is a lot of stuff. At the year 4 night out we watched charlotte's web, played with glow sticks, ate pudding, and stayed up till nine o'clock. This all happened because of our great teacher mrs M and if your wondering who put up this blog I will just tell you that if you think it is me you are way wrong.

I am just going to tell you that mrs M is the best teacher in the world.

My reflection

Today I taught my mum how to transfer imagechef to your own blog. She and I thought it was the best thing you could ever do on the computer!!! I taught her how to how to copy a embed code. I did one of my favourite poem which is about dogs.

my weekend

My weekend was nearly the best weekend anyone could of ever had. It all started on a Saturday when I was getting my haircut. I was upset because I do not really like getting my haircut at all but my mum told me you could get infected if your thick hair gets to long, so at that moment I realized that I should not be too grumpy because I would hate to be like those other people who did get infected. After my haircut I got a big suprise because we got mac Donalds for lunch with a ice cream!!!!  After that we went to the farm and had a bomb fire and I was allowed to light it. We had noodles for dinner and it was as yum as a chocolate fudge. Then we went to bed and when I woke up I realized I was crying because it was such a sad dream. when we all woke up my mum, my sister and I made my dad breakfast in bed because it was fathers day. My Dad had just woken up when we made him breakfast in bed. Then he got all his presents and he really liked them. We bought him a T-shirt, shorts, a book called the murder of  king tut, a matris for his yoga, some gloves for golf and a key ring that lights up. Later that day something awful happened. Well this is what happened I was out and about on my bike when my mum and my dad were bringing a very old TV to our farm when suddenly the TV dropped on my dads foot, it was lucky that I was on my bike because I think would of gone deaf if I herd it because my dad could be herd from a mile away. My dad was gone the rest of the day. When it was dinner time I had homemade twisters which are my favourite food in the world. When I was in bed I thought it was nearly the best weekend in the whole world.                                                         

Magnext madness

On a saturday morning I decided to make some aliens out of magnetics, so I could take photos of my newly created aliens and hang them up on the wall. I made five aliens. The aliens were very hard to make, once I actually had to break one down because it was so tricky and I did not know where my mistakes had taken place. The first magnetic thing was not really an alien. I did not make an alien because I have always wondered about the pyramids of Giza, so I made them out of magnetics and this is what it ended up looking like.The second thing I made was called Octo alien because my friend said it looks more like a octopus instead of an alien. We gave it a lasers to make it look more like a alien. Then we found some square magnetics and made a cube and attached some triangle hands to it and attached it to the octo alien. When we had finished we took a photo and this is what it looked like!     The third one I made was called Diamond Die. I called it this name because it shoots whatever the shape is in the middle. I called it Diamond Die because it is shaped like a diamond in the middle so the alien shoots diamonds. I shaped the middle like a diamond because in the middle it has the strongest laser in the world. This is is what it looked like.The fourth alien I made was called Dog Star. I also called him Meteor Smasher. I called him Dog Star because he looks like he is a dog reaching for the stars and I called him Meteor smasher because he has got lasers that only hit meteors that are going to crash on earth or on other planets. This is what meteor smasher or dog star looked like. The fifth and sixth one I made is called Laser Larshe and Strong Arms. I called this alien, Laser Larshe because it can destroy anything even the whole earth with its powerful lasers. Laser larshe has three lasers, the two yellow ones are for smashing easy thing like a car or something like that. The red one is for destroying a planet in the solar system like the sun or something. Strong arms helps laser larshe by not using lasers but using its strong arms and like Laser Larshe Strong Arms can destroy anything. Laser Larshe is the one on the left and Strong Arms is the one on the right.   

my scout badges

On Wednesday the 2nd of September I earned my scout badges. The scout badges were called the pet badge, the musician badge (level 1) and my other musician badge (level 2). To earn my pet badge I had to look after my pet which means walking my pet every day, feeding my pet and even picking up my pet's poop!!!! I had to do this for two months. 

I also had to find out about two diseases that dogs could get and I chose the diseases called blindness and the disease that canine fleas give to dogs and us. Canine fleas give diseases by biting the dog and getting its spit onto the dog which the dog is allergic to. red pimples occur where the dog itches. If the dog continues to itch, their hair will start to fall off. You can get rid of the disease by bathing your dog with  flea repellant,  groom your dog with a comb, have your dog wear a flea collar and clean all your furniture so fleas do not leave their eggs in these places. 

Blindness can occur in many different ways, however my dog became blind because of retinal degeneration this happens when blood gets into the dogs eyes and the blood vessels at the back of the eye begin to disappear. At first the dog can not see at night but when more and more blood vessels begin to disappear the dog begins to become completely blind. Sadly you can not make the dog see ever again.

I worked with my friend to do our musician badge but we had to play three pieces on a violin.

We played the music to other scouts. The pieces were called Can Can,Old Macdonald had a farm and Twinkle twinkle little star. We also had to draw the symbols of music and learn about a composer called Beethoven. I chose beethoven because he went all over the world playing his violin to kings and queens even though he was deaf and when he died of illness people believed someone poisoned him. We also had to play different scales on the violin and explain the different parts of the violin. We demonstrated how to take care of our instruments. 

                                                         

Drug Awareness Week

The last few days we have been learning about the safe use of medicines and how to put people in the recovering position when they are unconscious. We have also been learning about the recovering position. Medicines can be very dangerous that why I made up this little rhyming sentence it is called 'lock it away but don't play.' I made up this because medicines can make you sick make you feel sevier pain or even kill you!!! my mum came in to talk to the class

My Holiday At Magnetic Island

On Easter Saturday I was getting ready to go to Magnetic island and I was so excited I just could not wait! I had finished packing and I hopped into the car.

 When we got to the place we saw that the boat had not arrived so I asked my mum if I  could get my Ipod out of the boot and she said "No!" After we saw the boat coming and I asked my mum when we get on the ferry, " Can I get my Ipod out" and she said "Okay!"

 It was our turn to get on the ferry and for the very first time my mum allowed us to stay in the car. I liked that idea because I would be able to sing the ABBA songs on my Ipod in the car. When 10-20 minutes were gone we were at Magnetic Island!

 My friend was waiting for me at the apartment we were staying at (they did not stay at the apartment). So while my dad ran in to get the keys I went with my friend to his house it had a beautiful garden and it had a bath tub outside! Finally it was time for lunch I had 2 sausage rolls with barbecue sauce and after lunch my friend and I asked if we could go to this cool shop that we saw and she said ''Yes''. We were at the shop when I asked the lady "How much is that ball?" she said,"8 dollars and 30 cents", so I asked my mum if I could have it and she said "Just because we are on holidays, yes!''.

 The third thing we did was go to our house in the apartment it was a awesome place to stay I asked my friend "Where should I put this ball?" he said "Next to your bed" so I listened to to him and put it next to the bed. Then we watched a DVD and then went to bed. 

The next day I woke up and mummy was in the shower already she did say we were going to Horse Shoe bay early in the morning so I got dressed as quick as a flash and we were on our way to Horse Shoe bay. I saw my friend and my friend and I picked a good spot to sit. The first thing I knew was my friend getting his swimmers on so I got mine on too. Next I went to the stinger net and could stand on flat feet at the end of it!. After I said to him "Do you want to get out now?" "Yes!"he said so we got out and asked if we could have morning tea. The parents said "Yes"and we had some water melon, grapes and strawberries. It was delicious. 

Then I asked if we could get something from the shop and my Mum said "Yes". So I got a killer python and my friend got double drops. When it was lunch time I was allowed to go  on the water sports I begged to go on the two person tube but we were not allowed. We said faster the whole way and the driver went a little bit faster . We went into the stinger net to play but the tide was high. The first thing I recognised was my school friend. I asked him, "Do you want to play volley ball with us," "Yes" he said. 

So my friend  and I were on a team and my school friend and my dad were on a team and the game began. It was a hard and my team lost! When it was time to go I said good bye to my friend and went to the apartment. Another day was gone and three more days left. The next day we went to IGA early in the morning and mummy got a DVD for us called Scooby-Doo And the Goblin King and it was scary. 

We went to Florence Bay and went snorkeling on the reef. We saw lots of fish and one sting ray went under me. It was fun to see such amazing sights. Next we went to Alma Bay and we swam in the massive waves. 

On the last day we went to Horse Shoe Bay and stayed 

there the whole day and this time my mum allowed us to go on the two person tube. It was a great last day on Magnetic Island and we were sad and happy to go because we missed our dogs. It was the best holiday ever!

Hermit crabs

Hermit crabs eat bread crumbs, shredded coconut, apples and other varieties of fruit. Hermit crabs live on beaches and the pet shop but hermit crabs  are really rare to find at the beach because it looks like an ordinary shell when you see it. Hermit crabs are really in danger because people, cars, trucks and buses are big threats to Hermit crabs. The buses, cars and trucks run over the hermit crabs and people just throw them into the sea. Did you know that the Hermit crabs claw is so strong that it can break through an egg in about 25 seconds flat and so strong that when a Hermit crab holds onto a newspaper it is nearly impossible to take it off without ripping the newspaper.

The end of Term 1 2009

I learnt a lot of things in term 1.I learnt all about all types of bulling. I also learnt about australian animals like how platypuses have venom and how they breed. I also learnt that Townsville is a lot different than in the olden days and how to type quickly. I really enjoyed playing on the computers and also enjoyed the story 'Boy Overboard" and "Something weird about Mr Foster". I found the blogs interesting and the games are a better way to learn if you love computers. I found listening a bit hard because I kept getting mixed up in everything and I found SOSE really difficult. I'm trying to improve my listening skills and my singing voice.. Next term I want to be student of the week and be the quickest typer in the class. Maybe term 2 will be better than term 1 and I'm going to not be as slow as I am. I have had a great time in term 1.

My learning in Week 9

I have been learning about typing skills because in the future at university, high school or in your job you have to be an independent typer. If you can't type quickly, you will be far behind. I have also been learning about cyclones. I realized that a cyclone has a eye and is made up of rain, thunderstorms and wind. I want to learn about cyclones because I want to be a scientist.
